The talks between the govt and Bus Operators’ Federation office-bearers on revision of bus fare in the state reached a deadlock as Transport Minister Aryadan Mohammed sought 15 days’ time to sort out the issue.
Terming the stance of the govt “deceitful”, Bus Operators’ Federation state general secretary K Gopinath and other office-bearers said that an indefinite stir is the only option in front of them.
A meeting of the Federation to be held at Kochi on Wednesday will chalk out future course of action, he added.
A cabinet sub-committee which went into the fare revision issue had come to the conclusion that since many court strictures and observations are coming, cautious decisions are necessary.
But the bus operators were unwilling to wait for any more time.
