New Delhi: Two specialised check-in counters were opened on Wednesday at New Delhi Metro station on the Airport Express Line for passengers of Air India to facilitate comfortable and hassle-free travel.
The counters were inaugurated jointly by Ashwani Lohani, Chairman cum Managing Director of Air India and Mangu Singh, Managing Director of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).
"The counters shall allow Air India passengers on both international and domestic routes to book tickets, get flight information and also check-in their extra luggage. The counters shall remain open from 5 AM to 11 PM," a statement by DMRC said.
"The flight check-in facility shall close two hours before the departure of the scheduled flight," it said.
"The objective is to enhance the overall travel experience ... for the passengers," Lohani said.
Singh said, "Both Air India and Delhi Metro occupy a special space in the Indian aviation and urban transportation sectors respectively. This initiative is expected to benefit the flight-bound passengers and encourage them to use this facility while travelling on the Airport Express line.
"Our endeavor is to provide the maximum convenience to all our passengers travelling on the Airport Express Line," he said.
