College student commits suicide

CHENNAI: An MBA student, who is a councillor’s daughter, committed suicide near Puzhal on Sunday. Shobana, student of a private college, hanged herself when she was alone at home, police said.Her father Subramani, an AIADMK Councillor, was out on work and her mother and grandmother had gone to Tirupati. Police said the body was found by a boy, who was sent by Subramani to bring food from his house. Minor Sexually Abused?Police are investigating whether a four-year-old girl  from Tiruvallur district was sexually abused on Sunday. The girl, the daughter of a lorry driver, had gone missing from her home near Vengal close to Periyapalayam. Later, she was found standing near a tree. Police registered a case as they suspected that the girl could have been sexually abused.  The girl has been sent to Stanley Hospital for a check-up.
