KOCHI: It's wedding bells for Kochi’s favourite MLA and Congress young blood Hibi Eden. Hibi, who is 28-year-old and currently the youngest member of the Assembly, has decided to shed his bachelorhood and settle down with 27-year-old Anna Linda, an IITian and software professional-turned-TV anchor, after three years of courtship. So, seems like the super-busy politician is ready to get hitched? “Yes, I think it is time to get married. I never wanted my relationship to be discussed publicly as I think it is better to keep one's personal life away from the public glare. Most of my relatives came to know about it only after it appeared in the newspapers,” says Hibi who will tie the knot at Kaloor St Francis Xavier Church on January 30, 2010.Hibi adds that the wedding will not be a closely-guarded affair and he plans to invite one and all. “There is also a wedding party at Gokulam Convention Centre, Kaloor. I want all my dear and near ones to attend the special day of my life,” he says.Theirs is a rare combo of a busy politician and an IIT graduate, working in the entertainment industry. Ask Hibi about this and he says that his Guruvayur-based ‘would-be’ has a good grip on social issues too. He says he is sure  she would provide an ideal backbone to his political career. So, what would he say about his three-year old romance?“I am not a romantic person at all. But, we always found time for chatting. The first time we met was when I took part in an Onam programme that she anchored for an entertainment channel,” Hibi says and quickly clarifies that it was not a typical love-at-first-sight situation.Anna vouches, “He is not romantic at all.”Both are aware that life would be quite different for Anna now, as Mrs Eden. Says Hibi, “I expect that she is quite aware that I have a busy public life." Anna, however, is not sure how she would tackle the situation and prefers to learn with time. “I feel there is a limit to how far you can prepare yourself without actually being in that situation. The first few months of my new life would be the most crucial ones. Hopefully, my schedule will fall in sync,” she says.Hibi, son of the late MP George Eden, has always been amidst hectic activity. Would he be taking a few days off to enjoy domestic bliss? “One can’t say that for sure,” he smiles, adding,”I, of course, wish to get a few days for myself. But, once you are in the public domain, you should always be available for the people,” is his reply. Many spouses of politicians gradually enter politics in at least small ways, but Anna Linda, daughter of Jose and Jansi of Vazhapilly House, says being Eden’s wife is as ‘political’ as she wants her life to get. “I am certainly not prepared for anything more,” she says firmly. Here's wishing the couple  all the best.
