Mumbai: Several prominent Bollywood personalities turned up on Saturday to unveil the poster and to launch the website of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI).

This year, the 11-day festival will begin in Goa on the November 23, and is expected to showcase some of the finest films from across the world.

All eyes naturally were on Goa's Chief Minister, Pratapsingh Raoji Rane, who took the opportunity to assure the gathering that security will be the Government's top concern during the festival, following information from Intelligence agencies that the state may be on the terror map.

"Security is one of our main concerns. So, we have to beef up the security. We can't be complacent about it," says Chief Minister of Goa, Pratapsingh Raoji Rane.

Among the many Indian films that will be screened during IFFI are Tanuja Chandra's 9/11 drama Hope And A Little Sugar starring Mahima Chaudhary and Anupam Kher; Bengali film Anurann featuring Rahul Bose and Raima Sen, and Chitra Palekar's Marathi film Maati Maay.

The actors who are involved with these films don't hide their gratitude to film festivals which are often the only windows of hope for many small films which don't find theatrical distribution.

"These are our oases of hopes. Sometimes you stumble upon something inside the dark theatres that makes you feel special for next two hours or you come across something that excites you," says Actor Rahul Bose.

IFFI this year will open with Spanish maestro Pedro Almodovar's Volver, and the festival's closing film is the Brad Pitt-Cate Blanchett drama Babel.

But if that doesn't interest you, then perhaps this will -- a handful of leading Bollywood stars like Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra are slated to perform live at the festival's opening ceremony.

Irrespective of where your interests lie, the last week of November promises a heady mix of sun, sand and cinema. It's destination Goa, book your tickets now!
