Mumbai: A court on Wednesday rejected Pravin Mahajan’s plea, seeking the return of his car seized by police.
Pravin Mahajan was held on the charge of murdering his elder brother BJP General Secretary Pramod Mahajan.
Magistrate R T Badge, hearing his plea, accepted the contention of the prosecution that investigations were still incomplete.
Pravin's advocate Nandkumar Rajurkar submitted that police had seized his client’s Maruti Swiftcar and urged that the vehicle be returned to his family as it was not used in the crime.
On last occasion, when Pravin was being remanded to custody, he had pleaded before the court to direct the police to return the car.
But the magistrate asked him to make an application to this effect. Prosecution opposed Pravin's plea for return of the car, saying investigations were underway.
Pravin is lodged in judicial custody till May 17.
