CPI stages demo for Food Security Act

PUDUCHERRY: Activists of Communist Party of India (CPI) staged a demonstration near head post office on Thursday to demand the enactment of the Food Security Bill by the Centre. Puducherry unit secretary Na Ra Kalainathan, addressing the demonstrators, said the Central government was now going back on its promise of implementing the Food security Act. He condemned the Centre for failing to check the prices of essential commodities and for allowing the “increase-at-will” policy adopted by the oil firms. Leaders  Abhishegam, Anand, Sethuselvam, Salim participated.
