CPM state secretariat has called for a judicial probe into the death of Bihar youth Sathnam Singh.
The youth who was taken into custody by the police after he tried to trespass into the Amrithanandamayi ashram at Vallikkavu, was killed while in judicial custody. The Crime Branch probe is meaningless as the needle of suspicion is on the police also, the secretariat pointed out.
The inquest report said there had been injury marks inflicted by iron rods on the body of the youth. The truth about who inflicted the injuries resulting in the death should be brought out.
The statement said that the relatives of the youth had complained that they had requested the Home Minister to provide treatment to the youth. The reasons that led to the death and those responsible for the death should be brought to light, the statement said.
