Darshan moved from hospital to jail

BANGALORE:  Actor Darshan, who was admitted to Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Chest Diseases (RGICD)  due to health problems is back at the Parappana Agrahara Central Prison. He was discharged from the hospital  and was shifted to jail on Wednesday. Darshan, who was taken to prison on September 9, complained of pain in his ribs and was admitted to RGICD, where he was receiving treatment for asthma and jaundice for the last 12 days. The hospital’s director Dr Shashidhar Buggi discharged the actor on Wednesday after his health condition had improved. Amidst police security, Darshan was taken to the central prison.   Jail officials said that the actor came to jail at around 1.30 pm. “The actor is sharing room with former minister Katta Subramanya Naidu’s son Katta Jagadish and Srinivas, who were arrested in the KIADB land scam. He has been given 8993 as badge number,” officials said.   Officials added that the actor needs to be content with a bed, pillow and a color TV set with cable connection. “No other facilities have been given to the actor. He has not demanded for home food. His brother Dinakar Thoogudeepa has asked for permission to meet him.”   The actor’s judicial custody (JC) was extended till October 4. As the period of his JC concluded on Wednesday, he was produced before the magistrate of the First ACMM Court through a video conference and the JC was extended up to October 4. Darshan’s fans had gathered near the hospital and prison to catch a glimpse of him but he managed to avoid the media glare and made a quiet entry into the prison.
