New Delhi: Jailed actor Darshan starrer 'Saarathi' one of the super hit Kannada movies of the year has created a record in Box Office. According Kannada film industry sheer luck of film crew, a lot of 'sympathy' of his fans have made this possible.
When Darshan was in Jail 'Saarathi' producers tried to create so much hype and finally it yielded desired result. When he came out on bail he went to promote the movie across Karnataka with his co-actors.
According to box office collection Saarathi has broken the record of another blockbuster Kannada movie 'Paramathma' starring Punith Rajkumar in lead role and directed by star director Yogaraj Bhat.
But movie analysts say the script has some stuff and Darshan was portrayed in different canvas compared to his previous roles and Darshan's simple acting attracts the movie goers.
The first week collection of Sarathi has crossed a whopping Rs 3 crore. Film distributor M N Kumar hopes that the movie will continue to get a full house response in the next four weeks. Sarathi was released in 145 theatres across Karnataka. It will be screened at 137 theatres in the fourth week. He adds that the collection of Sarathi is very close to the collections of another blockbuster Aptha Rakshaka and Jackie in the first week.
Producer K S Sathy Prakash feels that the belief that people like only good product is further established by this. Men, women and children are thronging to watch Sarathi. In the days of despair actor Darshan's film still manages to pull audiences to theatres.
