CHENNAI: While Koodankulam impasse refuses to die down, the 10-point action plan suggested by former President APJ Abdul Kalam for the development of Koodankulam and its adjoining areas and to allay the fears of the people regarding the nuclear power plant has received encouraging response from the political community.DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi maintained that Kalam will not make any comment without deep thinking over the issue. “However, the feelings of Koodankulam people cannot be set aside,” he said.CPM general secretary G Ramakrishnan said that the party welcomed the measures suggested by Kalam aimed at better livelihood for the people of Koodankulam as it was one among the major apprehensions of the people concerned.CPI general secretary D Pandian said that he would react to the recommendations of Kalam after getting reactions from protestors.“We are so far from the issue and are mere spectators so far”, Pandian said.
