Mumbai: After bagging the best comic actor award for Golmaal - Fun Unlimited at the Global Indian Film Awards (GIFA) this month, Tusshar Kapoor is on cloud nine.

"This is my first award after I won the best male newcomer award for Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai. It feels good when your hard work is acknowledged and repaid in some way," said Tusshar, who played a mute guy in Golmaal.

In fact, he is essaying the same role in Golmaal 2, reports Bollywood Trade. "I haven't heard the script yet, but I am playing a mute guy again," he said.

So, does he think comedy is his forte now? "Not really. I started with a romantic film then there was Kucch To Hai, after that I had an intense role in 'Khakee'. So, I don't think comedy is my forte as yet. Actually, nothing really is my forte right now," said Tusshar.

Apoorva Lakhia's Shootout At Lokhandwala marks his first negative role. He did his bit to get the nuances right. He attended a workshop and had umpteen meetings with Lakhia.

"I had a character sketch in my own mind and I just followed it. I tried to understand the psyche of the dreaded gangster that I play and tried recreating it in my own way. Moreover, one of my friends analysed me and gave me his feedback."

The actor is full of praise for Dhol director Priyadarshan and says he has a great command over comedy.

"The film is a typical Priyadarshan film. It is a complete laugh riot and a comedy of errors. He is so focused and clear in his mind. He gets the best out of you and you don't feel like you're acting. I really enjoyed myself. My character sort of has an upper hand and is as 'mean' as others in the film," said Tusshar.

Quiz him about sharing screen space with his father Jeetendra, and he says: "We'd love to work together but dad is busy with the management of Balaji Telefilms and not interested in acting right now."

Tusshar is happy with the way his career is shaping up. Apart from Shootout At Lokhandwala and Dhol, he has Subhash Ghai's Good Boy Bad Boy, Ananth Mahadevan's Agar and Kya Love Story Hai with Ayesha Takia.

"2007 is an important year for me since I have seven releases coming up," said Tusshar excitedly.
