ED restrained from acting against Natwar, Jagat
The ED had initiated proceedings against them for violation of the FEMA.

New Delhi: Former external affairs minister Natwar Singh and his son Jagat Singh can breath easy after the Delhi High Court on Monday restrained the Enforcement Directorate from taking any action against the duo in a case of alleged violation of Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).

The proceedings, which relates to the Iraq oil-for-food scam, were stayed by a bench of Justices TS Thakur and Kailash Gambhir.

ED has also been restrained the ED from going ahead with proceedings against the duo till further orders.

The bench reserved its order on their petition that they should be supplied with all documents relating to the Iraq oil-for-food scam.

The ED had initiated proceedings against the two for alleged violation of the FEMA.

Natwar Singh and his son had challenged the single bench order of the court which had declined to provide all the documents on the scam to them.
