New Delhi: Extra LPG cylinders may cost Rs 710 as the government is mulling charging more for extra cylinders. The government will discuss the proposal in the EGoM meet on LPG on Friday.
The proposals for the EGoM include setting up of a task force on direct transfer of subsidies in LPG, kerosene had made some recommendations. The proposals also say that every household will get only 4 to 6 LPG cylinders at a subsidised price of Rs 395.35 in Delhi and they will have to pay a market price of about Rs 710 per bottle for any requirement beyond that.
The proposals say that the limited supply of subsidised LPG would be for those who own a car, two-wheeler, house or figure in the income-tax list.
Meanwhile, in an immediate political fallout of the petrol price rise, UPA allies DMK and TMC have decided to boycott Friday's meeting of ministers on LPG, expressing their anger.
