New Delhi: World No. 1 Roger Federer has reached the semi-finals of the Montreal Masters.
Federer was at his fluent best as he swept past Lleyton Hewitt of Australia in straight sets. The defending champion wrapped up the match 6-3, 6-4.
"Yeah it was a good match. I really enjoyed playing against Lleyton. Haven't played in a while and so I really think it lived up to the expectations. Saw some great rallies and I think it was good crowd as well today here in Montreal so good conditions to play in. And I am very happy with the way that I played," Roger Federer said after his win.
Federer will now take on unseeded Radek Stepanek who beat Nikolay Davydenko 6-4, 7-5.
Meanwhile, Andy Roddick crashed out of the tournament.
He lost to third seed Novak Djokovic 7-6, 6-4 in the other quarter-final. World no. 2 Rafael Nadal is also through to the last four.
