Finally, we've made it to London: Nobbs
"Nearly 12 months have gone by so quickly, and we have made it," said India hockey coach Michael Nobbs upon his arrival at the Olympic Games Village in London.

The Indian men's hockey team arrived in London on July 20, and having missed the flight to Beijing four years ago, a fist-pump and desire to thrive could both be felt in coach Michael Nobbs words as the team touched base at the plush Games Village.

"Finally we [have] made it. Nearly 12 months have gone by so quickly, and we [have] made it," said Nobbs, who is just one year old in his job as the coach of this team, which qualified for the 2012 Olympics by winning the qualifying tournament at home in February this year.

Nobbs was quick to elaborate on the "we" in his statement.

"By that I mean everyone associated with this team: Hockey India, SAI, coaching staff, players and supporters. 'We' [have] made it," he said, adding that the team was just settling in by training at the gym and a few video sessions to study their opponents.

"Not much happening at the moment but training, gym work and video sessions," he said, knowing that India's job won't be easy in a pool that includes defending Olympic champions Germany and world No. 3 Netherlands, besides Korea, New Zealand and Belgium.

With only top two teams from each pool to qualify for the semi-finals, a win against the Dutch in India's opening game on July 30 will change the mathematics of Pool B, from where Germany and Netherlands are favourites to reach the semis.
