Thanjavur (Tamil Nadu): People in Enamkiliyur village near Valangaman in Tiruvarur district witnessed a 'miracle' when jasmine flowers fell out of the eyes of two girls.
Nine-year-old Kiruthiga and six-year-old Roja,
both daughters of farm labourers had the people in the village looking at them in dismay as the flowers kept dropping out of their eyes.
According to the parents of the girls, the jasmine flowers began falling out a few weeks ago and each time a flower fell out the girls complained of pain in their eyes.
They said the flowers seemed to be dry at times.
The two girls were taken to the government hospital in Thanjavur where the doctors who attended on them said that surgery should be performed to stop this strange phenomenon.
Interestingly, on hearing about this, people from other parts of Tamil Nadu were visiting the girls and offering prayers claiming that it was 'divine intervention'.
