New Delhi: BJP leader and former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu is again in trouble. This time for parking his car in a slot reserved for judges.
The former cricketer was in a Chandigarh local court to furnish a bail bond where he drove his car into a reserved spot.
Angry lawyers said it was a breach of protocol.
However, the counsel of Sidhu defended the mistake saying it was nothing deliberated and they were just following the security instructions.
Earlier Sidhu was sentenced to three years in prison for a 1988 murder case. The Punjab and Haryana High Court, which found the ex-cricketer guilty of culpable homicide not amounting to murder on December 2, has also slapped a fine of Rs one lakh.
However, he will not be arrested immediately as his sentence has been suspended till January 31. He can now appeal in a higher court and also contest elections.
While respecting the high court judgement, the popular cricket commentator and talk show host said he would now go before the people's court to let them decide his fate.
