Mumbai: After making top Bollywood stars dance to his steps, choreographer Ganesh Acharya is now turning to direction.
At the mahurat of his debut film Swami, he received support from directors for whom he had earlier choreographed various songs. So, filmmaker David Dhawan, director duo Abbas Mustan and Smita Thackeray came out in full support of Ganesh.
And as far as his lead actors go, Manoj Bajpai and Juhi Chawla are certain Ganesh will dance his way into filmmaking with ease.
"Ganesh has choreographed each and every emotion in this film," Bajpai said.
"I can't even count the number of songs that he has done, must have done a couple of hundred songs. He has worked with so many people and on all kinds of songs with different emotions and feelings. So, technically he is absolutely brilliant," Juhi said.
The character of Swami is played by Manoj Bajpai and is the story of a man who has always fulfilled his wife's wishes.
Like choreographers Farah Khan and Saroj Khan, for Ganesh, too, directing a film was just an extension of choreography.
"Every moment and movement has been well choreographed in this film," Ganesh explained.
To be filmed mostly in and around Mumbai, Swami is slated for an early release next year.
