After International Tribunal (IT) handed a ban for Mercedes from the Young Driver Test at Silverstone for completing a private tyre test at the Circuit de Catalunya after the Spanish Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton expressed his disappointment on missing out on test when he termed as the 'an important test for the year'.
"That does suck a little bit because that test is quite an important test for the year; it's the only test really, It's important because we had a lot planned, upgrades and stuff, that we were hoping to test on those three days," stated the disgruntled Brit as quoted by www.gpupdate.net.
After the tire-gate scandal, for which the International Tribunal (IT) reprimanded and banned Mercedes from the the Young Driver Test, being staged between July 17-19, the team are now focused for the upcoming British GP and Hamilton feels that the team would do good in his home race.
"The team have been doing a great job. We've got into a good position, so if we can get into an even better one that would be fantastic. The team have been working so hard to get the results we've had, so a negative result [at the IT] was not needed," he added.
