HYDERABAD: Amidst pleas from a battery of designated senior counsels, a division bench of the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Wednesday deferred hearing on the alleged ill-gotten wealth of YSR Congress chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and the APIIC-Emaar scam to Monday.Advocate V Venkataramana, appearing on behalf of Jagan, pleaded for a copy of the CBI’s preliminary report on Jagan’s assets which was submitted to the court on Tuesday. He reminded the division bench that the apex court had said parties to the case be given a copy of the report. The bench, however, contradicted him and said it had not gone through the sealed report itself. When the bench said it will resume the proceedings Thursday, the counsels requested that the matter be taken up on Monday. In a related development, Textiles Minister Shankar Rao, whose letter to the court has led to the CBI probe against Jagan, has been given extra security. Intelligence officials on Wednesday visited his residence and briefed him on the threat perception.
