Jodhpur: Rajasthan High Court on Friday summoned the record of the Kankani poaching case against film actor Salman Khan and others while hearing the state's revision petition challenging removal of certain charges against them by a lower court.
After receiving the record, the High Court would start hearing as to what extent interference can be made in the decision of Jodhpur Additional District Judge, who ordered the removal of some sections of IPC while partially allowing the first revision petitions of Salman, fellow actors Saif Ali Khan, Neelam, Sonali Bendre and Tabu and a local, Dushyant Singh, in the black buck poaching case.
It has fixed November 6 as the next date for hearing. The Judicial Magistrate is now conducting trial only under sections of the Wild Life Protection Act. The prosecution has challenged this decision and high court Judge H R Panwar on Friday issued notices to the respondents.
The court also summoned for records in the revision petition filed against Salman for possessing illegal weapons. Salman and others, during the shooting of the movie Hum Saath Saath Hain in 1998, are alleged to have hunted down endangered black bucks in Kankani village.
It was charged that Salman misguided the court regarding the expiry of license of the weapon that was allegedly used for the hunt. The High Court would hear this case too on November 6.
