Pakistani gunman retracts his confession, does U-turn.

Mumbai: Pakistani gunman Ajmal Kasab on Friday told a special Mumbai David Coleman Headley, the alleged Lashkar-e-Toiba under arrest in the US, was among the “foreigners” who had interrogated him.

"I totally deny the confession made before the Magistrate. I was beaten up by the police and was interrogated by foreigners, and one of them was Headley," Kasab told Judge M L Tahiliyani while retracting his confession.

Tahiliyani told Kasab that he should first answer the questions put to him by the court and then say whatever he wanted to.

At this point, defence lawyer, Ejaz Naqvi, defending another accused Sabahudin Ahmed, told the Judge that Kasab had named Headley and that it should be recorded.

The judge, however, told the lawyer that he would first finish with Kasab's statement and that Kasab was free to say whatever he wanted after that.

Headley was arrested by the FBI in October for plotting terror attacks in India and Denmark.

Following Kasab's statement on Headley, Defence lawyer Ejaz Naqvi filed an application before the 26/11 Court urging that Headley may be summoned and interrogated for his role in this case.

"We feel that Headley must also have interrogated, besides Kasab, co-accused Fahim Ansari and Sabahudin Ahmed. He must have interrogated the three masquerading as FBI agent," Naqvi said.

Naqvi filed the application on behalf of Sabahudin Ahmed.
