New Delhi: Heavy rains are lashing North Maharashtra even as the situation in Rajasthan has improved considerably.
In Maharashtra, Amravati is on high alert after the Telkheda Dam developed cracks and 50 villages are in danger of flooding.
In Rajasthan, meanwhile, things are looking up. The water level in the Jaswant Sagar Dam in Jodhpur has receded.
Officials say more than 70 per cent of the water has drained off. The dam had breached on Saturday following incessant rains.
Water has also started receding in Pali and Balotra. People evacuated from there, have now been advised to return to their homes. No casualties have been reported so far.
Nagpur Chandra, Gadchiroli and Bhandardara districts have experienced heavy rains in the last 24 hours.
