Though higherend government officials pass through these gates, none have taken notice of it or have initiated action...

BANGALORE: The recent rain in the city has not only troubled slum dwellers. The posh areas have also been hit by the heavy downpour. Ambedkar Veedhi is overflowing with drainage water and heavily stinks. The result: It is an adventure to pass on the road behind Karnataka Government Insurance Department (KGID) at Cubbon Park.
Though higherend government officials and ministers pass through these gates, none have taken notice of it or have initiated action. Laila, a High Court employee, said: "I avoid the road nowadays and use alternate roads. Also when the vehicles pass by, there is no way pedestrians can walk without vehicles splashing water on us. I have complained to the authorities but no action has been taken.

When The New Indian Express (TNIE) contacted Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board(BWSSB) officer Shivram, he seemed clueless. He later said: "I will instruct my officials to make sure that the drain is covered by tomorrow morning." All attempts to contact BWSSB S Suresh Kumar failed.
