The Kerala High Court on Friday directed the state government to inform the court by next week the steps taken to comply with the court directive to provide police protection for transporting machines and equipment to the Vilappilsala solid waste treatment plant for constructing a leachate plant.
A Division Bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Manjula Chellur and Justice A M Shaffique issued the directive when a petition filed by the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation seeking police protection came up for hearing. Counsel for the corporation, Nandakumara Menon submitted that the agitators had blocked the vehicle carrying the machines and other equipment.
