BHUBANESWAR: The GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL) on Thursday launched its “Fly via Hyderabad” campaign beckoning fliers from Bhubaneswar to opt for the airport as the connecting link to their destinations in the country and across the borders. The airport not only provides seamless connectivity to the majority of the destination in the country and almost the whole of most frequented destinations abroad but also will bring down the costs of travel for the passengers, CEO of GHIAL Vikram Jaisinghani told mediapersons here. The basic objective of the campaign is to attract more passenger traffic through the Hyderabad Airport or Rajiv Gandhi International Airport by projecting it as the gateway of south and central India. It is a better choice for passengers as it connects not only 29 domestic but also 15 international destinations including the most frequented ones in South East Asian and Middle East countries. “Presently, the passengers tend to move through Delhi, Mumbai or Bangalore to their destinations. By choosing Hyderabad the passengers would stand to gain substantially in terms of less travel time and consequent lower costs. For example, Bhubaneswar-Pune through Hyderabad reduces flight time by as high as 40 percent in comparison to Delhi and Mumbai. For Mangalore, travel time is reduced by 30 percent as compared to via Mumbai or via Bangalore”, Jaisingh said. The Hyderabad Airport also stands out as the best in terms of services and facilities and has been rated as Worlds No 1 airport by the Airport Council International in the five to 15 million category. It has an integrated domestic and international terminal along with dedicated help desks to for smooth transfers. The infrastructure is state-of-the-art with ultramodern lounges, shopping and foods and beverage facilities along with hospitality ranging from as low as ` 150 for lodges to 5-star hotels, the CEO said.
