New kid on the block Shadab Kamal, who has made his full-fledged debut with 'BA Pass', has gone all bold in the 'erotic human drama' with actress Shilpa Shukla. In the past, Shadab has featured in a small role in 'Chittagong'. In 'BA Pass', directed by Ajay Bahl, Shilpa plays a rich, married woman, who turns a sex guru for Shadab. She teaches him the art of lovemaking. The film is said to be based on one of the stories titled 'The Railway Aunty' by Mohan Sikka from the book 'Delhi Noir', and it talks about male prostitution. The film also stars Rajesh Sharma, Dibyendu Bhattacharya and Deepti Naval. Actor Shadab Kamal joined IBNLive readers for an interaction on his movie 'BA Pass'.
Q. When you are shooting for the movie for erotic scenes, don't you get tempted to have sex? Asked by: shivang
A. Hi Shivang, one can definitely get tempted but think about it, there is no privacy. The crew is standing by, and there is a camera rolling. Moreover, we are actors not porn stars.
Q. How difficult it is to be professional while shooting intimate scenes with someone as hot as Shilpa Shukla? Asked by: prashant
A. Hey Prashant, she is of course very hot and yeah it could get difficult for anyone to be professional then ;). However, unlike in real life, we are mostly thinking about the character and trying to behave as the characters would and not be ourselves.
Q. CBFC gave you A, critics gave you D - Distinction. Have you got a dirty picture done decently? Asked by: sundar1950in
A. Hey Sundar, whenever people hear the word 'A'-adult, they immediately think there must be a lot of explicit sexual content. Rarely do people understand that it is also because of the theme and not just the visuals. Our film is not a Dirty Picture :P
Q. Did you have a formal training in acting? Acting is natural in you? Asked by: sundar1950in
A. No, I didn't have any formal training but i have been acting in theater for many years now. I wouldn't say it's natural in me but I have learnt from the best from school days to my 6 years of theater in Kolkata.
Q. Is there any real story of any person? Asked by: pandit
A. Hey Pandit, the film's story has been adapted from Mohan Sikka's 'the railway aunty'. only he would know what inspired him.
Q. Why debut in such a sensual story line? Asked by: kirti
A. Why not. I chose the script because it appeared to be a promising project. After all the appreciation and accolades the film has received I can proudly say I made the right choice.
Q. Have you managed a different role in new films. Likely to get typecast in roles as that of BA Pass? Asked by: sundar1950in
A. I am not afraid of being typecast. I just need to make sure that I don't act like Mukesh in all my movies.
Q. Shadab, there was a scene where you get raped by multiple men. How difficult was it to enact? Asked by: Ashu Bajaj
A. Mr Ashu Bajaj, that's a nice question. I must tell you that the actors who played those characters were brilliant and very sweet bunch of guys. I mean you would be surprised. So it was actually fun doing the scene where i get picked up by them in a car. also, the rape scene was never shot and has been left to the audience's imagination. Thank god for that!
Q. I guess this is your first movie. How was your experience in front of camera. Asked by: Raj
A. Hey Raj, I think the exposure to film acting couldn't have been better for me. I have most possibly done everything that one could imagine doing in a single film. lol!
Q. You were seen in Chittagong and now in BA Pass. Both of them have earned awards film festivals. Good thing isn't it? :) Co-incidence or you have a penchant for choosing different subjects, apart from the normal rom-coms. Asked by: Sandeep Rao
A. I don't choose the scripts or the subjects rather they choose me. I am only fortunate they have all received critical acclaim.

A. All this while my focus was behind this film but now that it has successfully released I am open to offers that may come my way.

A. Hello, nice to hear from you. I think I have even mentioned this in a couple of my interviews that I don't think I would have pursued acting as a career had it not been for my school, and the constant encouragement given to me by various teachers. Thank you, Sir!
