THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: IDBI Bank Ltd, one of the Registrars for enrolment of residents under Aadhaar project of UIDAI has launched its enrolment in Kerala from seven branches in five locations in the state. The facility will be open for its customers, their relatives and other residents. S Andi, Chief General Manager and Head - Financial Inclusion Department, IDBI Bank Ltd, inaugurated the launch at Vazhuthacad branch here the other day. K Ramaswamy, CGM & Head - PBG (South) and Krishnadas C H, Regional Head (Kerala) were also present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Ramaswamy said that the bank had started enrolment for the first time in the country from Kerala. The Bank will also commence enrollment from other branches in Kerala soon, to be part of a national mission in providing Unique Identification Number or Aadhaar to the residents. Explaining the benefits of Aadhaar, Andi said that the document was a means for residents to easily and effectively establish their identity to any agency, anywhere in the country, without having to repeatedly produce identity documentation. The enrolment has commenced from IDBI Bank’s branches located at Karamana and Ulloor here and in Kollam, Kannur, Kozhikode and Palakkad.
