New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Tuesday said that global slowdown is affecting India and there will be shrinkage both in export and in import markets.
Speaking at ASSOCHAM's 95th Annual Event on transforming India's socio-economic landscape in Delhi, Jaitley said, "Today we live in a world full of turmoil and volatility; trying to put firewalls around the economy to save it from crisis. Those who stall reforms should realise that place of obsolete thinking are now shrinking. India has become aspirational and confidence in Indian economy has been restored".
"What ISIS is doing poses a new danger to civilisation and the impact on global economy cannot be understated," he said.
On 'One Rank One Pension', he said, "I look at pressures in next year of sticking to my fiscal discipline, satisfying all those who wanted OROP."
Concerned over the passage of GST, he said, "We are willing to discuss with the Opposition; Congress needs to revisit some suggestions as they are not in best interest".
