Infant sold to clear debts

An eight-month-old male infant has been sold for Rs 22,000 by the parents to their neighbours due to financial problems.

Though the incident took place a week ago, it came to light only on Sunday when the parents approached police urging them to get back their child.

“Ramesh approached us on Sunday night but we have not registered any case so far,” the CI said.
