It is important to be a good person

BANGALORE: What are your spiritual beliefs?I’m a Roman Catholic. But, in a place like Bangalore things like that doesn’t matter. I have many Hindu and Christian friends. I think it is important to be a good person. I don’t believe that one can become spiritual by visiting the church or any other shrine. That way my thought process is not very traditional. If I don’t get to go to the church on a Sunday morning then I’d just go in the evening. I always pray, even at home.What is your understanding of God?I believe that God has helped me through so much in life. I always turn back and thank God  for everything that I’ve achieved so far. I think we should always be thankful to him for whatever he bestows upon us. There are so many people who do not have food on their plates, and we are fortunate enough to have what they do not. So we should thank God and go on. My mom is the one who kept us together and in closeness with God. She would get us to pray and believe in him. What are your spiritual practices?Like I said, we should be thankful of what he has given us. People shouldn’t turn to him  just for help. But we must believe and have faith. My husband is not very spiritual, so I don’t particularly force my spiritual beliefs on him or my children. I go to church on Easter, Good Friday and  Christmas. Have you visited any pilgrim centers?I’ve visited Vailankkani. And hopefully in the future, I’d love to visit Rome, Vatican city and etc.
