HYDERABAD: The Central Bureau of Investigation is all set to question Kadapa MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who will appear before the agency on Friday in connection with the illegal mining case involving mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy who is in judicial custody.According to sources, Jagan will present himself before the CBI at the agency's office at Koti here in the morning."There has been no request by Jagan so far seeking time to appear before the agency. He will present himself on Friday morning to face quizzing,'' sources said. The CBI summoned the son of former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy on the basis of a charge made by the son of a senior Congress leader from Proddatur that Jagan had threatened him during the allotment of mining leases in Anantapur district. Jagan had been served with a notice as a 'witness' about a week ago.The arrest of Koneru Prasad in the Emaar scam, just hours before the YSR Congress chief is to present himself before the agency, may have a psychological impact on Jagan, the sources said.Though the arrest of some other persons in the Emaar case is expected any time, the fact that it came a day before Jagan's questioning, appears to be aimed at sending a 'strong signal' to Jagan. The CBI, which has prepared a detailed questionnaire to grill Jagan, is likely to seek answers from him on his links with Gali Janardhan Reddy and the Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC), the mining leases for which were given in an unusual haste during the regime of YS Rajasekhara Reddy as the chief minister. The sources said that Jagan would have to spend quite a few hours with the CBI answering several queries. The CBI is taking the help of the local police to beef up security in and around its office at Koti.
