Jammu: Eighteen people, who were trapped in the flash-floods in Kathua district in Jammu and Kashmir, have been rescued by the Air Force personnel. The victims were trapped at various places as the Ujh river was flowing above the danger mark.
Large areas in Hiranagar tehsil have been flooded after the water level in the Ujh river reached danger mark, police officials have told PTI. Rail traffic was also briefly suspended on the Ujh bridge, officials informed, adding that rains have also damaged the standing crops in the region.
A cloud burst hit Romshi Nallah at Adi Trag village in Rajpora area of Pulwama on Friday, police said. Two women were washed away in the flood waters. Several houses were also reported to be damaged and some cattle perished in the cloud burst.
