Srinagar: One person was killed and many private and government properties damaged due to a cloudburst triggered by heavy rain in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir.
The cloudburst shook the houses and within no time mud, garbage and boulders piled up in the fields. A cloudburst struck Gratnar Sigdi village in Chatroo tehsil, 40 km from Srinagar.
Around 8 km of road was also swept away, while many public and hydro-powered flour mills were damaged due to the incident. The cloudburst also caused extensive damages to orchards, rice and maize fields, leaving the growers without any source of income.
