BANGALORE: In a bid to involve the youth with the public system by giving them an opportunity to work in various departments of the government, The Department of Higher Education and the Karnataka Jnana Ayoga has launched the Jnana Fellowship 2011.
Member Secretary and Executive Director of the Ayoga, Prof M K Sridhar said that the fellowship was initiated based on a survey conducted among 9,000 youth in the state. "We found that the youth have low confidence in the public system. After discussing various ideas on how to involve the youth to give them better opportunities to interface with the public system, we designed this fellowship."

The fellows will be working under the heads of various departments, and will be assigned to a specific project in a department or in the Commission.

However, Sridhar clarified that the fellowship does not guarantee a job with the government departments or the Jnana Aayoga.
