Actor-producer John Abraham on Thursday attended the 15th annual day function of an institution for differently-abled children and said it is "very inspiring to see the children" and that he would like to "spend time" with them in future. He attended ‘Swayam Sidhha’ at Mata Bhagwanti Chadha Niketan School (MBCN) in Noida.
"I am happy to come to MBCN School and meet the children here. I would like to congratulate the management and staff of MBCN School for encouraging the children. (I) would love to meet the children in future as well and spend time with them," John said in a statement.
Captain Sardar Singh of Delhi Waveriders, Hockey India League, joined the “Madras Cafe” actor at the event. "It is something that I would remember for a long time. It is very inspiring to see the children here," Singh said.
The special children of MBCN School put up a show for parents and guests on the theme - Girl child and woman empowerment via dance dramas symbolizing the rights and equality of women in the society.
"It is our earnest task to make a difference to the lives of the children and make them physically, socially and financially independent," said Vandana Sharma, principal, MBCN School.
"With the school completing 15 years this year, it is a satisfying experience to see that so many children are today self-equipped because their parents understood that they are different and nurtured them along with the teachers and staff at the School," added Sharma.
The students of the school also prepared specially designed hand crafted gift hampers for Singh and John. Last year four students of the school were awarded medals at the Special Olympics in Australia.
