The US Consulate here wants Chennai as an itinerary in the governor’s proposed visit, ” a source said.It is also expected that the governor would lead a 50-member delegation, and strategic partnerships between Tamil Nadu and the state of Maryland will be formalised during the team’s visit. It is also likely that the University of Maryland may go in for a tie-up with an academic institution in Chennai and its details are being worked out.
