Mumbai: The final show of Day 3 at Lakme Fashion Week was a pleasant surprise for all as the suave Kabir Bedi walked the ramp for fashion designer Narendra Kumar as his showstopper.
As Frank Sinatra's evergreen voice poured out loud from the music box, and live musicians crooned on the stage, the debonair Bedi walked, danced and blew air kisses at his family that cheered for him from the front row. While daughter Pooja clapped hard from the sideline, his son Adam couldn't contain his big smile that soon turned into a wide grin. The crowd just couldn't have enough of the handsome and dashing veteran actor who accompanied Nari on the stage as the designer took a bow.
Thursday night at LFW also saw veteran actress Shabana Azmi occupying her seat in the front guest row as her pet project Mijwan - a part of which sees rural women of Mijwan, UP handcrafting exquisite embroidery - found prominent place in Anita Dongre's new winter/ festive collection. Accompanying Shabana were other celebrities like Gul Panag, former model Namrata Barua and Sangeeta Bijlani.
Actress and lissome lass Lisa Haydon (of 'Aisha' fame) opened the show for Dongre in a a rather striking ensemble and was also the designer's showstopper. As she sashayed down the ramp in bridal wear crafted out of eco-friendly cotton with delicate chikankari work created by the Mijwan workers, Shabana and her entourage erupted in a volley of applause.
Gul Panag, who is the face of Anitra Dongre's AND collection occupied front row seats as well and was spotted chatting up with the shutterbugs. Now, Gul is one Bollywood actress who never shies away from being caught on the camera. She looked effortlessly stylish in a nude coloured-attire and her trademark short cropped hairstyle freshly blowdried. With barely there make-up, this Bollywood leading lady surely knows how to turn heads.
