In more legal trouble for Salman Khan, the Khan Market Traders Association is planning to sue the actor for over the name of his new online shopping platform - khanmarketonline.com. The Khan Market Traders Association is planning to file a case against the actor for trademark infringement.
"Khan Market is a global brand, people from world around know Khan Market in Delhi. Salman Khan should have taken us into confidence before using the portal of Khan market," Member of Khan Market shopkeeper association Sanjeev Mehra said.
Salman unveiled the online shopping portal on his 50th birthday on December 27, 2015. The portal is yet to begin operations but is open for registrations.
However, legal experts suggest there is no trademark infringement in the case.
Confederation of All India Traders have also backed Khan Market Traders. They have said that since the online portal has no connection with the market, "he cannot steal the goodwill Khan Market has earned in the past 65 years," Confederation of All India Traders said.
