New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party patriarch LK Advani is likely to be on the list of people to be honoured with Padma awards this year. Yoga guru Ramdev, who campaigned excessively for the BJP in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, is also likely to be awarded.
Among the actors, sources say that names of Dilip Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan are likely to feature in the list. Referred to as the millennium-star of the film industry, Bachchan is also the brand ambassador for Gujarat. Ad-man and famous lyricist Prasoon Joshi is also likely to be awarded.
Indian badminton player PV Sindhu and Indian World Champion wrestler Sushil Kumar are also likely to get the award. Spiritual leader and founder of the Art of Living Foundation Sri Sri Ravi Shankar may also get the award, say sources.
The final list will be finalised by the Prime Minister's Office and is likely to be declared on January 25. However, there is no confirmation yet from the government on the list of awardees.
The Padma Awards will be conferred on the recipients on the Republic Day on January 26.
