BELGAUM: Police suspect that the youth who fired inside the Nizammuddin-Vasco Express at Londa on Saturday, causing in injuries to three, could have been from Maharashtra.A police official on condition of anonymity said that all the injured had sustained long-distance injuries, which suggested that the weapon used by the accused was a sophisticated one. The railway police reportedly found the bullets from the fire-arm. “The accused should be either from a well-to-do family or a professional rowdy. We, however, suspect him to be a rowdy, given the indiscriminate manner in which the bullets were fired,” the official added. Police also strongly feel that the gang must hail from areas surrounding Sangli or Miraj in Maharashtra. A Railway police team was sent to examine the train.
