BANGALORE: The Vacation Bench of the High Court on Thursday ordered status quo on the construction of the first floor of a building in Thyagarajnagar following a petition alleging violation of easementary rights. The petitioner, T V Satyanarayana, stated that the owner of the house was raising the first floor and it was blocking air and light to their house, and sought directions from the court to prevent the neighbour from going ahead with the construction. The petitioner, further stated that the owner had given an undertaking before the City Civil Court judge, but was continuing with the construction work. and sought directions to the BBMP to stop the construction work. He argued the contractor and owner of the house were backed by a corporator. Hearing the petition, Justice A N Pachapure directed to stop the construction till the next hearing and adjourned the case.
