BANGALORE:  Karnataka Government Specialist Doctors’ Association (KGSDA) on Thursday clarified that they were not party to the decision being taken by Karnataka State Government Medical Officers’ Association (KGMOA) of submitting their resignations en masse on May 14.Addressing a press conference here, the members of KGSDA said that the Medical officers’ Association had not taken their consent, but have declared that the specialist doctors will tender their resignations. “We will not endorse their decision as it would cause problems to thousands of poor patients across the State,” said the District Health and family welfare officer and president of KGSDA Dr M Thimappa.Members of KGMOA are demanding that their rural allowances be merged with their basic salary and that the responsibility of 10 district hospitals be taken back from the medical education department and restored to the health department. The specialist doctors  claim that protest is not the solution. They also claim that the Medical association’s decision is uncalled for.
