BANGALORE: Urging the Parliamentarians to do their duty, Governor H R Bhardwaj said that they need to realise that they belong to the entire country and are answerable to the citizens of the country. Speaking after releasing ‘Message from Parliament House’, a book authored by former Governor of Bihar and Rajya Sabha member Justice Dr M Rama Jois on Tuesday at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, he said that India has had a history of superior traditions and values and the country needs to uphold them.Taking the example of Justice Jois’ book, he said that the book reminds of these traditions and that such reminders are necessary for a revival of those values. ‘Message from a Parliament House’ talks about messages from the scriptures inscribed on the walls in the Parliament house. “When I was elected to the Rajya Sabha, as I was walking throughthe corridors of the Parliament building, I saw verses from the Bhagwad Gita inscribed in gold letters on the walls”, said Justice Jois. The book is essentially a compilation of the these Shlokas from the Parliament House.Speaking about the book and its purpose, Governor Bhardwaj also quoted verses from the scriptures to justify their relevance to the Constitution of India and the Parliament.
