New Delhi: US-based telecom company Telcordia on Thursday denied having links with Home Ministry official Ravi Inder Singh, who was arrested on Tuesday by the Delhi Police for allegedly passing sensitive information to unauthorised persons.
"Telcordia categorically denies allegations being reported by sections of the press that Mr. Ravi Inder Singh, a Director in the Ministry of Home Affairs, is on its payrolls. This is absolutely untrue. We at Telcordia, and all its ventures, have followed the law of the land and have complete respect for the norms and guidelines of the Indian Government. We follow the highest levels of integrity and process. Our only interaction with Mr. Singh was at a presentation at the Ministry of Home Affairs, in the presence of other officials from the same ministry. All approvals for doing business in India have come through due process as laid down by the law of the land. At no point have we attempted to seek favour from any government official, directly or indirectly," the company said in a statement here.
On Wednesday, the Delhi Police had secured permission from a Special Court to hold the senior IAS officer in custody for six days on charges that he passed on sensitive information to unauthorised persons.
According to Public Prosecutor Rajeev Mohan, Singh had leaked information pertaining to a US-based telecom company, Telcordia, for illegal gratification.
