New Delhi: The Miss World pageant returns with all its glitz and glamour. 61st edition of the pageant will take place in London on Sunday night. 122 contestants from across the world will take part in the pageant. Kanishtha Dhankhar is India's bet for the crown.
Priyanka Chopra won the Miss World crown in 2000. Since then no Indian contestant could grab the title. India ranks amongst the top 3 nations who have five Miss World crowns to their credit. The other two countries are Venezuela and United Kingdom. Can Kanishtha change these figures by winning the Miss World 2011 crown?
Apart from the Miss India World 2011 title, Kanishtha Dhankhar won five subtitles at the Miss India 2011 pageant. This Mumbai girl is an extremely popular face in the modeling world. She has walked the ramp for renowned designers like Sabyasachi Mukherjee and Wendell Rodrciks. Kanishtha has also appeared on the coverage of magazines like Grazia, Femina and Marie Claire. Earlier this year, Kanishtha was also seen at the Cannes Film Festival.
The 25-year-old Kanishtha Dhankhar also took up yoga and mediation as a part of her Miss World preparations. Her Miss World journey has been good so far. She made it to the top 20 of 'Top Model' contest. For 'Beauty with a Purpose' title she has made it to the Top 10 finalists. Extremely excited for the pageant, Kanishtha is all set to make India proud.
