Mumbai: Actress Mona Singh who rose to stardom on small screen with her debut show 'Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi' returns to fiction with 'Kya Hua Tera Vada' on Sony Television later this month.
The actress, whose Plain Jane character was well received by the audience initially chose to stay away from fiction shows, except a cameo in 'Radha Ki Betiyan'...on NDTV Imagine, also participated in reality shows and later hosted them.
She won the dance reality show 'Jhalak Dikhla Ja' and later hosted its subsequent seasons, besides chaperoning live events and last featured in Raju Hirani's '3 Idiots'.
'Kya Hua Tera Vada' is a daily soap from Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms. Mona will play the character that goes by her real life name along with actor Pawan Shankar who will be seen as Pradeep Singh.
The show to be launched on January 19 will go on air from January 30. Sources said actress-turned-producer Aruna Irani's 'Dekha Ek Khwaab,' which is currently aired on the same slot will be shifted to some other time. Mona as well as the Balaji Telefilms and Sony Television are tight-lipped about the show and plans are afoot to unveil it on a bigger scale. Sources said the story was about young couples and how their priorities change after having kids.
