Madhya Pradesh Waqf Board chairman Gufran-E-Azam on Monday alleged that rules were violated by the ruling BJP government in the appointment of Chief Executive Officer of the Board.
Addressing a press conference here, Gufran said he on Monday wrote a letter to the Chief Secretary, pointing out all the irregularities that were committed in the appointment of Daud Ahmed Khan, the new CEO of Waqf Board.
Khan's previous appointment as CEO in 2010 had been cancelled after Gurfan and other members of the board objected, he pointed out.
The chairman alleged that Khan was appointed this time without any intimation to the Board, while the rules mandate that government must consult the Waqf Board.
Khan's predecessor, Shafiuddin, will continue to act as the CEO till a new person is appointed, he said.
