Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf has sent a special message to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh seeking a restart of the peace process.

Islamabad: Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf has sent a special message to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh seeking a restart of the peace process between the two countries, according to The News newspaper in Islamabad.

The message said Pakistan is willing to come to the table of comprehensive dialogue provided India realises the mistake of stalling the peace process and show sincerity of purpose, according to the daily.

“The message is being carried by Pakistan High Commissioner to India Aziz Ahmad Khan who had lengthy discussions with Musharraf at his Rawalpindi camp office on Saturday,” the daily said.

Aziz left for India with the message, which was expected to be handed over Singh.

The envoy submitted a detailed report to Musharraf on India's relations with Pakistan.

“The understanding of the situation on the part of the President is remarkable,” Khan was quoted by the newspaper as saying.

Khan also discussions with Pakistan Foreign Secretary Riaz Muhammad Khan in Islamabad. He also met Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Friday.
